Over the last few years, the Jordan Melo Signature line has seen its
ups, downs, lefts, and rights; shoes like the Melo 1.5 and 5.5 were big
hits but as the design of his shoes focused more on performance and
engineering, the streetwear potential remained stagnant. Melo’s most
recent shoe, the Melo M6, underperformed in retail, and towards the tail end of the NBA season, the original design was surmounted by one created by a high-school sophomore in the Jordan Brand Future Sole competition. With the Melo M7,
the design team started anew, integrating a visible Air Unit, flex
grooves on the lateral forefoot outsole, and a unique uper design that
features a mesh layer under leather panels. The comfort is there, and
the design is catching for sure.
Here’s a look at the Jordan Melo M7
China Edition, which features a white leather upper, silver mesh
underlayer, bright red laces, and jade green on the inner lining and
translucent outsole. The jade color is a tribute to the ornamental stone
that played a large role in China’s vast history, and through the
translucent outsole is a message written in one of China’s dialects. The
speckled midsole adds a rustic touch to this colorway as well. Release
information for the Melo M7 China has not been confirmed but with the
general release colorways dropping very soon, a release of the China
shouldn’t be too far away – if this is in fact slated for a release.
