Richmond Police Make an Arrest in Oregon Hill Graffiti

RICHMOND - OREGON HILL - Richmond police say they have arrested the person responsible for several acts of graffiti vandalism in the City.

Investigators say 33 year old C*** N**** of Richmond defaced several locations in the Oregon Hill neighborhood along with city parks. They say he used the tag name "Dr. Bastard."

Two 19-year-old graffiti vandals were arrested Tuesday night when they were caught shoplifting spray paint from an area discount store, police said.

K***** L. C******, of the 2000 block of Franklin Ave. in Marshallton, and J***** T. P*****, of the 700 block of Dorcaster Drive in the Sherwood Park community, were each charged with shoplifting, possession of graffiti implements and conspiracy.

Graffiti art exhibit opens at Stocker

When is it legal to graffiti walls? When it's part of school study, which happens to be at Lorain County Community College. For a look at this urban art form, check out "Above and Beyond 2: Art and Installation by Eight Graffiti Artists" at the Beth K. Stocker Art Gallery in the Stocker Center at the college.

Bob Peck has curated the show, which looks at graffiti-inspired themes via fine arts and a large-scale collaborative installation.

Graffiti "artist" to serve 5 weeks in prison

New London – Angry property owners addressed a Superior Court judge this morning upon hearing that Robert V. Guess, accused of vandalizing dozens of downtown buildings with graffiti, would serve only five weeks in prison and two years probation.

Guess, who has been held on $50,000 bond since his Sept. 29 arrest, pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree criminal mischief and admitted to violating his probation from an earlier graffiti case. He agreed to remain in prison until Nov. 3, ...

Some city residents celebrated graffiti as fine art while others whitewashed the "vandalism" away within hours of each other this past weekend in downtown Terre Haute.

Late artist's graffiti sells for stunning sum

A piece of graffiti by Hong Kong's self-proclaimed "King of Kowloon" has sold for a record 500 000 Hong Kong dollars (R480 954), auction house Sotheby's confirmed on Wednesday.

The piece by the late Tsang Tsou-choi, featuring rows of Chinese calligraphy on canvas, attracted fierce bidding in Sotheby's Asian art auction Tuesday.

It finally went to an unknown telephone bidder for more than seven times its predicted sale amount of 70 000 Hong Kong dollars.
