Graffiti Artist Erik Wahl Raises Over 1.5 Million Dollars For Charity

Erik Wahl, graffiti artist and social philanthropist, announced this week he has rasied over $1,500,000 for charitable foundations and associations around the world through the auctioning of his artwork.

'Save or delete' by Banksy


A charity poster designed by graffiti artist Banksy could raise as much as £80,000 when it is sold at auction next week.

The original artwork was designed for Greenpeace's Save Or Delete campaign and was intended to highlight the problem of deforestation.

It features characters from Walt Disney's TheJungle Book film put on to an image of a devastated forest but was never used because of copyright issues.

Artist Raises $146,000 For Voina

One of the world's best-known graffiti artists, Banksy, said Tuesday that he has raised 4.5 million rubles ($146,000) for the Russian radical art group Voina, or War, whose members face jail time over their street performances.

Britain-based Banksy will donate to Voina royalties from a limited series of his prints, some of which were sold online and some through a London shop last week at £450 ($710) apiece, said a statement on the web site Picturesonwalls.com

Bristol graffiti artist Banksy has donated a painting to raise funds for an artist who lost his home in a fire.

He has joined the Rooftop Burner Fund to aid friend Rowdy, who lost everything when his house, including his studio, recently burnt down.
